APPEARANCE;

While 16, Zidane tends to look a little younger then he is thanks to his short stature (I take his height from Dissidia, so while in his own world he's on the someone shorter side of average... but compared to people of other worlds he's pretty tiny).  He has bright teal eyes and long brassy gold hair that he usually keeps tied back in a loose pony tail at the nape of his neck.  His most noticeable feature is his long prehensile tail.  And yes, it can in fact support his own weight.  Clothing wise he seems to favor an aristocratic style, with a cravat and lace trimmings.  It's fairly normal if a touch fancy for the world he comes from.

PERSONALITY;

Zidane's most easily noticed trait is his love of the ladies. He's a notorious flirt and skirtchaser and won't hesitate to hit on any girl he encounters. Even Goddesses are not exempt from this. He's also not above attempting to cop a feel on someone if he thinks he can get away with it or make it look like an accident. Generally though he's not too big a pervert and his flirting is more casual and playful then anything. He'd never want to make any girl truly uncomfortable and knows when to back off. He is also still somewhat immature about true romance, which, considering his age is perfectly reasonable. For example at one point he needs to have a 'fake' wedding with the girl he has a crush on in order to enter a certain town and gets cold feet, almost not going through with it.

Girls certainly aren't the only ones he's friendly to though. For the most part he's incredibly outgoing and cheerful around everyone. His friendly upbeat manner allows him to make friends very easily, and when he makes friends they're for life. He'd incredibly loyal and devoted to those he's close to.

He's quite laid back and doesn't even get upset when people tease him about his height or his unusual tail. However, one of the only few sure fire ways to get him upset is to actually yank his tail. It is real and it does hurt and gets him steaming like nothing else. Luckily he never stays upset for too long, and he probably doesn't have the slightest clue on how to even hold a grudge.

Friends of Zidane should still be cautious around him though. He happens to have quite the mischievous streak and he enjoys playing tricks and teasing people, even if they’re friends… ESPECIALLY if they’re friends. This is especially true towards those he sees as 'sticks in the mud' and he loves finding way to get under a stuffy stoic person's skin. His quick wit and sharp tongue are almost guaranteed to ruffle feathers.

He also knows when it's time to get serious, and will stop at nothing to help someone who is truly in need. His catch phrase is 'Do I need a reason to help someone?' and he certainly lives by those words. Whether they be close companion or someone he just met, if there's something he can do to help, he'll do it. Even towards someone decidedly villainous if he sees a hint of reform in them he will gladly extend his hand in aid without even a moment’s hesitation.

The type of help he gives varies, from a few words of advice to team mates who are troubled, to jumping into a fight without a second glance. His help usually retains a sort of playful element to it too. When his team mate Vivi was questioning his existence and purpose Zidane managed to cheer him up by reminding him that he still had friends who were there to back him up no matter how troubled he was. He then immediately invited him to take part in a special bonding ritual between male friends (which was to take a pee of a high cliff together).

Zidane is also not without his own fears and insecurities. His biggest fear is being alone or abandoned by those he cares about. When he does find himself forcibly separated from his friends he gets easily depressed and anxious, worried not only about his companions but also about what will happen to him while he's alone. The best example of this is when he finds out about his true origin, which is a genetically manufactured 'Angel of Death' created to wipe out all life on Gaia.

He was already sensitive about not knowing a thing about his past or where he came from, but to find out he'd been created to be something so terrible traumatized him. In a state of shock he figured that his companions would want nothing to do with him after hearing the truth and ran off alone. It was only after his friends had each pleaded with him, yelled at him, and practically beat it into him that they were THERE for him, that after all of the countless times he'd risked life and limb for them, after all the times he'd told them not to worry because they would never be alone with their fears as long has he was there for them, after all of that he finally gained the courage to go on. He still has his doubts, and still fears being truly alone, but the support of his companions certainly ease that anxiety.

One should also not forget that while, yes Zidane is a hero and a really nice person... he is also still kind of a criminal. He's a thief, he won't think twice about picking someone's pocket, breaking and entering, or busting a buddy out of jail. He wouldn't ever engage in any truly heinous behavior, while a thief he's got his own morals and codes of conduct (undoubtedly beaten into him by father-figure Baku). Just.. you know, if something catches his eye and it ain't bolted down it's totally free game.

Things had been... kinda weird since finding himself in the Digiworld a couple weeks ago.  He still wasn't entirely sure what made a world 'Digital'.  He'd asked someone who compared it to a computer... and then got annoyed when he kept asking questions about computers and electronics... It wasn't Zidane's fault he'd never heard of those kind of things! It was pretty cool too though.  There were lots of people and digimon everywhere, and he'd found a whole lot of things he'd never seen before too!

And of course he had his own new partner in crime... er, just 'partner' that is.

"Don't worry! It's really easy," Zidane assured his new digimon partner.  They were currently lurking in the shadows of an alley as Zidane instructed him the fine art of pickpocketing.  It was the key skill of any thief worth their salt and Zidane wanted to make sure his new friend was an expert on it.

"I don't know Zidane..." his partner seemed... less then enthusiastic about investigating the contents of someone else's pockets, "What if I get caught?"

"You won't! Just stay here and watch how I do it," and with a grin and a wink the tailed boy slipped out of he shadows and onto the street.  He had his eyes on his mark but didn't go strait in.  He made a point of looking around at other things and checking out some stalls before moving in on the target.  He barely brushed against them as he walked past... but in that moment his hand moved to dip into their pocket.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Zidane is first and foremost a thief and has all the common abilities associated with one such as lock picking and pickpocketing. He is a talented actor, and has performed in numerous plays. This comes in handy when combined with the fact that he's a thief. It makes him an excellent liar.

As far as battle abilities are concerned, he is highly skilled in the use of dual daggers/short swords as well as double ended swallow blades. He is also incredibly fast and agile, the point of being highly acrobatic, putting his small stature to good use. He, of course, possesses a long prehensile tail strong enough to support his own weight as well.

He can also use energy attacks known as 'Dyne' in an assortment of ways, usually as projectiles.  As these techniques seem to require his own life force he's somewhat limited in how they can be used unless he's in Trance mode.  Trance mode isn't really something he can actively 'turn on' but after battling long enough he can transform for a brief period of time.  His hair and tail turn pink and patches of fur appear on his body as well.  While like this his strength, speed, and jumping capacity are all greatly enhanced as well.

Due to his small size and lack of armor, he can’t exactly take many hits before going down. If he can’t outspeed and blitz his opponent early on in the fight (or taunt and bait them enough to get them unfocused) he could potentially be in a bad spot.

He is very knowledgeable about music in general and can possible play a bit on a few different instruments as he is a performer at heart.

While he is on the slightly shorter side of average in his own world, as Dissidia shows us he is pretty tiny compared to the people of other worlds.

Zidane had to admit, here in Vatheon there was a truly impressive amount of free stuff around. Heck, most of the stores were absolutely full of free stuff! Of course the thief in him wept a little for this. There wasn’t much of a point to shoplifting when the item you were nicking didn’t cost a darn thing.

So there was nothing left to do but looking for something bad to do to satisfy the thief in him.

Eventually he worked out a little game. When someone wasn’t paying attention, or had left their shopping cart unattended he’d sneak over… and slip something into it, the bigger the item the better. The looks some people made when they turned around only to find that some giant something or another had mysteriously appeared in their cart were priceless. He had to do everything in his power not to break out into snickers and give away the fact that he was the culprit of the mysterious happenings.

Let’s see… for the tall muscular manly dude an assortment of dolls in frilly dresses, for the prudish looking guy a stack of naughty magazines. For the pretty blonde girl… a love letter. He thought she was super cute when she blushed while reading it.
Little did he know that someone had been observing him and his little game the past few minutes… perhaps his fun time was soon to be over if they didn’t have a sense of humor.
